On successful completion of a course in the First Aid/CPR/AED program, participants receive American Red Cross certification specific to the course they completed.
To successfully complete a course in the First Aid/CPR/AED program, the participant must:
■ Attend and participate in all class sessions.
■ Participate in all course activities.
■ Demonstrate competency in all required skills.
■ Successfully complete the Putting It All Together Assessment Scenario(s).
Skill Competency
To complete the course requirements and receive a completion certificate, a participant must be able to complete all required skills proficiently without any coaching or assistance. A
participant’s performance is proficient or not proficient based on the performance of the critical components of a skill that are necessary to meet the objective.
The care steps are consistent with the 2015 International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) Consensus on Science with Treatment Recommendations
for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and the 2015 American Heart Association and American Red Cross Guidelines for First Aid.
